CAN I HAVE A ONE-TO-ONE LESSON?
If you're more comfortable having a lesson on your own, you can have a personal 2 hour class.
You'll have my uninterrupted time throughout the whole session so you'll be able to get well on with your work and take your time over any of those tricky bits in your project.
HOW MUCH DOES THE CLASS COST?
The cost of each group class is £17.50 per person including tea/coffee.
The cost of a one-to-one lesson is from just £50 per person including tea/coffee.
HOW LARGE ARE THE CLASSES?
We book a maximum of 6 people per class which means you'll have plenty of space to distance for safer working plus you'll never be waiting long for any help you need with new or tricky techniques.
WHAT LENGTH COMMITMENT DO I HAVE TO MAKE?
Before you decide to join us, you may like to pop in to one of our classes to say hi. We're happy to welcome you with a cuppa and you can see a class 'in action' ... just call or message us before and we'll make sure the kettle is on ready.
When you feel ready to join us, it's simply 'pay as you go' system. You'll need to pay ahead of each class & we ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations but otherwise no long commitment. So, if you're not feeling well, the kids are on school holidays or you've somewhere else you need to be one week just tell us in advance and we'll see you the next week.
Some stitchers come to class each week, others come to class to learn specific techniques, go off and practice and come back weeks later when they need help with another stage of learning. It really is about what you want.
DO I NEED MY OWN MACHINE?
Yes, you'll need you own sewing machine.
We have plenty of tools and haberdashery you can borrow in class and we have a class sewing machine for times when you've only a little stitching to do but with your own machine, you'll form a real relationship and get a real knowledge of how best to use it and be able to use it between classes of course.
If you do need help choosing a machine please ask. You'll want to be happy with all your sewing tools but don't overspend on features you won't need.
WHAT WILL I MAKE IN CLASS?
Project choice is always yours.
Not everyone wants to make the same thing; you may want to make clothes, you may want to make soft furnishings but whatever you want to make you'll get help and advice but the final choice is yours.
WHERE ARE CLASSES HELD?
All classes are held in an equipped, fully insured studio in Nash, MK17, just about 15 minutes outside Milton Keynes.
There's loads of secureoff road parking here too.
WHO COMES TO CLASS?
Young and older, beginners and improvers; we've a complete mix but what we all have in common is that we enjoy sewing, being creative and the social side too.
